Notifly Makes List of 15 Amazing Rails Rumble Web Applications

We participated in Rails Rumble this year. Rails Rumble is a 48 hour programming competition where the idea is to create a web application from scratch completely within the 48 hour time limit. This is our first year entering the competition, but it certainly won't be our last. We had a great time and built something we think to be incredibly useful.

Our entry is Notifly, a service that will allow developers to send notifications to their user-base via multiple different communication channels, such as email, instant messenger, text message, or twitter. We were only able to get to about 75% of where we wanted to be (mainly due to my prolonged absences during the competition), but it still turned out well. We learned quite a bit from the competition this year and can't wait to give it another shot next year.

Just today we noticed that we made the list of 15 amazing web apps built in 48 hours on Network World at #14. Not too bad! Be sure to check out that article and digg it if you are so inclined.

Oh, and shame on Network World for that horribly intrusive advertising.

Most agencies want to build it, bill it, and move on. Not us. We’re in it for the long haul. Nearly every client we’ve ever had is still our client and those applications are still running at full speed.
